Using live viewing templates

When a new EV file is automatically created during live viewing, Echoview will check for suitable templates in the live viewing templates folder.

Echoview will search for a template with the following name: Equipment-Datatype.EV

Where:

Equipment

is the equipment name the Echolog application is configured with. This defaults to the name of the computer on which Echolog is running but can be set to another value in the Echolog application if desired. If no suitably named template is found, Echoview will try again using "Default" as the equipment name.

Datatype

is either:

500

For Echlog_500

60-RAW

For Echolog_60 broadcasting raw data (.raw files)

60-EK6 For Echolog_60 broadcasting compressed data .ek60 files

SM

For Echolog_SM broadcasting uncompressed data (.raw/.bfm/.bmf/.nnn files)

SM-COMP

For Echolog_SM broadcasting compressed data (.sm2000 files)

If a suitable live viewing template is not found, Echoview will create an EV file automatically using default settings.

One EV file will be created and opened for each instance of Echolog detected on the network.

To create a live viewing template, save an EV file to the templates folder with a name as described above. This EV file and the associated workspace file will then be available as a template in future. If a workspace file is present when the template is used, the stored workspace will be used (instead of displaying the Live viewing variables dialog box).
