Conversion to dB values

The 16-bit EK dB numbers which are stored in Simrad data files are converted to dB values in Echoview as follows:

Where:

dBEK = a 16 bit signed integer

Underlying data exports

Echoview exports EK numbers in underlying data exports from the following Simrad variables:

Simrad variable	dB value encoded as EK number
Sv (Q) and Sv (V) telegrams	Sv value
TS (Q) and TS (P) telegrams	TS value
Sv (W) and TS (W) telegrams	Power
