Sv data can be exported to EchoIMPACT for seabed classification.
To export Sv data from an entire Sv echogram:
On the Echogram menu, point to Export, and then click To EchoIMPACT.
Complete the Export to EchoIMPACT dialog box.
Click Export.
To export Sv data from a selection on an Sv echogram:
Make a selection using the vertical band tool

On the Shortcut menu (right-click), point to Export Selection, and then click To EchoIMPACT.
Complete the Export to EchoIMPACT dialog box.
Click Export.
Echoview will write the following files:
yyyyMMdd-hhmmss-XXX.sonar
yyyyMMdd-hhmmss-XXX.nav
where XXX denotes the source of the data as follows:
SIM for Simrad
HTI for HTI
BIO for BioSonics
KAI for Kaijo
VIR for virtual echogram (processed in Echoview)
ELD for SonarData EchoListener
RDI for RDI ADCP
OTH for Other source (e.g. from HAC data file or text data file)
Notes:
The selection of data points for export is not affected by settings on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box, e.g. the Exclude Above line, Exclude below line and Exclude bad data regions settings are ignored.
Two export files may be created (see EchoIMPACT file format for more information):
The .sonar file is a binary format specified by Quester Tangent Corporation for import into the EchoIMPACT software.
The .nav file is written only if GPS data are available. It contains one line of comma separated values for each GPS fix.
The longitude and latitude values that are exported are the longitude and latitude of the GPS antenna at the time the ping was transmitted, see What is affected by transducer geometry for more information.
