Detect Schools dialog box
The Detect Schools dialog box is used to detect 2D schools on the current Sv echogram.
To display the Detect Schools dialog box:

On the Echogram menu, click Detect Schools (to detect schools in the entire echogram).

-
Make a selection (to detect schools in a selection).

On the Shortcut menu (right-click), click Detect Schools.
Settings |
Description |
Assign class |
Specify the region class to be assigned to detected schools. |
Edit |
Click to open the Classes page of the EV File Properties dialog box where you can create a new region class or edit an existing class. |
Delete existing regions with this class first |
If checked, all 2D regions in the selection/echogram that have the assigned region class will be deleted prior to detecting schools. |
Run classification after detection |
If checked, regions will be classified according to rules specified on the Region Classification page of the EV File Properties dialog box. |
Properties |
Click to display the Schools page (Single beam schools) of the EV File Properties dialog box. Settings relevant to school detection are changed on this page. |
Detect |
Click to start the school detection process. The detection of schools in large EV files may take some time. |
Note: Exclusion settings on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box will affect school detection. A threshold should be set on the Data page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
