The New Editable Line dialog box is used to create a new editable line or overwrite an existing editable line.
To display the New Editable line dialog box:
The Destination section is used to name the new line.

Create a new line |
Select this option to enter a name for the new line or accept the default. |

Overwrite existing line |
Select this option to choose an existing line and replace it with the new line you are creating. |
Select the Make this line active on current echogram check box to automatically set the new line as the active line. This is selected by default.
The Source section is used to select the method that will be used to create the line.

Existing line |
Select this option to create the new line relative to an existing line. Choose the line on which the new line will be based and select an offset method in the Offset section:

Fixed depth |
Select this option to create a new line at a fixed depth on the echogram. Enter the desired depth in meters for the new line. |

Line pick from the current variable |
Select this option to create a line using the line picking algorithm set on the Line Pick page of the EV File Properties dialog box. |

None |
Select this option to create a blank line that you can then draw on the echogram using the Line draw tool. |
This setting is only available when you create a new editable line. The subsequent management of line visibility on echograms is then handled through the Lines page of the Variable Properties dialog box on a variable by variable basis.

Click Span gaps to ensure that your new line has no gaps in it. All gaps in the source line will be bridged with a line segment with a line status of Unverified.
