About Myriax

Myriax Software Pty. Ltd. (Myriax), part of the Myriax group of Australian companies, is a world leader in acoustic analysis and visualization tools for fisheries research.

Myriax's flagship product is Echoview, a software package designed to display and analyze acoustic data from scientific echosounders.

Echoview grew from the idea that a small team of experienced fisheries acousticians, with expertise in hydrographic data collection and acoustic seabed classification, and innovative computer programmers based in the Tasmanian wilderness could be the “programmers to the world fisheries acoustics community” and provide service that would exceed expectations.

In the period 1995 to 2007, our company called SonarData Pty Ltd promised to take the best of your research and ideas – and give it back to you in a software program that you could use for large surveys and research programs – serious software for professional scientists. As Myriax, we will continue to improve and develop Echoview to enable you to expand what is possible with fisheries acoustics and to provide service to the fisheries acoustics community.

Echoview is used in stock assessment within marine and lakes environments and for fish tracking in rivers. It has been designed to allow for easy exchange of data across platforms and between formats including Simrad, Kongsberg, BioSonics, DIDSON, Reson,  Kaijo, HAC and others. Our clients claim that Echoview is both the easiest to use and the most powerful echosounder data analysis software available today.

Scientists in leading institutes worldwide are using Echoview to enable and enhance the effectiveness of their research work.  Organizations using Echoview include Marine Laboratories in Aberdeen, National Marine Fisheries Service in the USA, Tokyo University of Fisheries in Japan, Australian Antarctic Division and more than sixty other institutes in Australia, Canada, Falkland Islands, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Namibia, Spain, UK and USA.

Echoview founding team member, Ian Higginbottom.
