About Update Echoview

The Update Echoview feature enables you to update Echoview using the internet. An Update available button appears next to the Echoview brand name when an update to Echoview is available.

A new Echoview version can become available because there is:

A new major Echoview version
A new minor Echoview version (commonly bug fix or late additional feature)
A build that includes or excudes dongles or time-dongles or updates module licenses
A new version of the Help file
A new version of the Updater program

The Update feature displays pertinent information in dialog boxes. Generally, the buttons on the dialog box step you through the update-procedure. Once the installation of an update is complete, you can click Run Echoview.

Notes:

The Update feature updates a single instance of Echoview.
The WMS URL list may be a part of an update.
You can disable the Update Echoview internet connection request with the setting Disable Echoview downloads.

Set up Automatic checking	Configuration settings > General page > SelectCheck for updates at program start up
Manual check	Help menu > Check for Updates

updatebackup folder

The process of downloading and installing an Echoview update, includes the creation of a backup. The backup is the archived pre-update Echoview application and is placed in the updatebackup folder under the Echoview folder. The backup-folder's name consists of the date and time of the update.
