2D sonar module

The 2D Sonar module allows you to detect and track single-fish targets or school cross-sections in data from mobile multibeam sonars. The module offers an optimum solution for surface fish school detection and tracking objects in data from scanning sonars.

The 2D Sonar module is intended to provide all of the benefits of the 3D sonar module to those who are uninterested in the ability to generate 3D surfaces from detected schools. Detected objects can be displayed and tracked in four dimensions, and summary statistics can be generated via analysis. This type of processing is most suited to data from supported scanning sonars and horizontally-mounted multibeam sonars.

The 2D Sonar module is part of Echoview's family of Sonar modules that offer a suite of graded features to suit data from imaging, multibeam and scanning sonars.

When this module is licensed but other modules are not licensed, restricted and/or time limited Echoview features from other modules are available under demonstation mode.

All features of the Stationary sonar module, for both stationary and mobile platforms.
Read and display any supported multibeam data files as a multibeam echogram with DVD-like replay controls.
Detect three-dimensional bottom surfaces.
These can be converted to 3D objects and can be displayed in the 4D scene environment.
Detect 2D objects within individual pings - outlines of fish or slices through schools.
These can be converted to 3D objects and can be displayed in the 4D scene environment.
Detect 3D region tracks and display in scenes.
Track 3D objects for a four-dimensional understanding of the shape and movement of fish or fish schools.
Morphometric analysis of 3D objects for size and shape information.
Integration analysis of data contained by detected 3D objects.
An expanded set of multibeam specific operators for pre-processing the data.
Export multibeam data as text data files, process in external applications, and then re-added to Echoview for display and analysis if desired.
Export of georeferenced samples from multibeam acoustic variables to facilitate analysis in a spatial context.
