Using Echosim 500

Before you begin

You must have Echolog 500 running on the computer that will log the data before you configure and use Echosim 500.

Starting Echosim

Start Echosim 500 from the Windows Start menu or from the Desktop shortcut.

Configuring Echosim 500

To configure Echosim 500:

  1. Enter or choose the File name and path of the EK500 data file with which you want to simulate live viewing.

  2. Enter the IP Address of the computer running Echolog 500, see Network Information dialog box.
    Note:
This defaults to the IP address of the current PC.

  3. Enter the IP Port (UDP port) on which Echolog 500 will listen.
    Note:
    This defaults to 2002.

  4. Enter the Delay (ms) between consecutive packets of data begin sent to the logger.
    Note:
If you set a very short delay (10ms or less) the simulator may transmit faster than the logger can receive data. A delay of 10ms will result in a data rate of roughly 50 KB/s, which is around the recommended maximum.

    Note:
