Raw variables derived from BioSonics data files

This page describes the variables that Echoview can derive from BioSonics data files.

.DT4 data files from DT4000 single beam echosounders

Echoview can derive the following variables from .DT4 data files logged by BioSonics DT4000 single beam echosounders:

  • Sv single beam pings

  • TS single beam pings

  • position GPS fixes+

  • position GPS fixes NMEA string

  • line data depth*

  • heading data (channel n)

  • heading data NMEA string

  • pitch data (channel n)

  • roll data (channel n)

.DT4 data files from DT5000 dual beam echosounders

Echoview can derive the following variables from .DT4 data files logged by BioSonics DT5000 dual beam echosounders:

  • Sv dual beam pings (narrow beam) (channel n)

  • Sv dual beam pings (wide beam) (channel n)

  • TS dual beam pings (narrow beam) (channel n)

  • TS dual beam pings (wide beam) (channel n)

  • position GPS fixes+

  • position GPS fixes NMEA string

  • line data depth*

.DT4 data files from DT6000 split beam echosounders

Echoview can derive the following variables from .DT4 data files logged by BioSonics DT6000 split beam echosounders:

  • Sv split beam pings (channel n)

  • TS split beam pings (channel n)

  • Angular position split beam pings (channel n)

  • position GPS fixes+

  • position GPS fixes NMEA string

  • line data depth*

  • heading data (channel n)

  • heading data NMEA string

  • pitch data (channel n)

  • roll data (channel n)

Legend

n = channel number

Notes:

* A line data depth GPGGA variable can represent altitude data.

+ position GPS fixes read from the Position tuple.
