New in Echoview 3.40 for all users
Welcome to Echoview 3.40!
Echoview 3.40 introduces features designed to further enhance your manipulation and visualization of data, and to streamline your workflow. We introduce two new graph functions for the analysis of data recorded in parallel under different frequencies. With 3D region tracking you can track 3D regions identified by 3D school detection. From Echoview 3.40 on, Echolog 500, 60 & SM and Echozip 60 & SM are free to users of Echoview.
Echoview 3.40 builds on the features and enhancements introduced by the internal release of Echoview 3.35 which introduced instrument and target-locked scanning concepts for the support of scanning sonars and a number of related and unrelated enhancements for general use.

Frequency Response graphs now available
Echoview now includes the ability to graph NASC against multiple frequencies using the Frequency Response Graph.
Also included is the ability to graphically compare sample mean against multiple variables using the Relative Mean dB graph.
3D Regions (schools) can now be tracked
3D Regions (which may represent the results of a 3D school detection) can now be tracked in a scene and an analysis of region tracks can be exported.
Lines in 3D space now supported
Echoview now supports lines in 3D space in the form of a new 3D object, the 3D polyline.
Backup files now display Echoview version
When you save an EV file with Echoview it will keep a backup of the EV file before it was saved. This provides one safeguard against accidentally overwriting old EV files. Now for your information, Echoview includes in the name of the EV file, the version number of Echoview which created the file.

New analysis variables
The new variable Region_notes contains the notes associated with the region being analyzed.
New analysis variables associated with the analysis of 3D region tracks are also introduced. See 3D region track metrics.
Echolog products now free
The Echolog product range is no longer protected by a hardware key (dongle) or password and may be downloaded free of charge. This affects the following products:

3D scene enhancements
Scenes have replay controls to play forward and reverse.
For Movies and Flythroughs, both the time slider and replay controls are supported.
Echoview now allows you to change the settings of imported 3D raster images.
Echoreport an EV file report writing utility
Introduced with Echoview 3.40 is the stand-alone utility Echoreport. Echoreport creates reports from the settings applied in EV files. Echoreport can display, print and save reports that contain extracted property information from every aspect of an EV file that is accessible through Echoview.
This includes EV file settings in:

Raw variable properties (such as calibration settings)

Virtual variable properties (such as calibration settings)
General User Interface Enhancements
- The Export page of the EV file properties dialog is more streamlined with variables arranged under groups and alphabetized; the order of columns in exported fields remains unchanged to maintain compatibility for existing post processing solutions. In addition, there are now context sensitive (F1) Help file links for each variable and variable group on the Export page.
- On the Variables and Geometry window there is now a command to Delete All Virtual Variables.
- On echograms you can now delete multiple regions within a selection.
- Echoview accepts entry of latitude and longitude in the degrees and minutes format as well as in decimal degrees.
