Support for DDF_04 data format
We are please to announce Echoview support for the DDF_04 data format.
Beam widths and sector angle for DIDSON data
Echoview now applies the correct beam widths and correct sector angle to DIDSON data (based on information supplied by Sound Metrics Corp.).
Prior to Echoview 4.50, Echoview applied equal beam widths to all beams in DIDSON data - this was an incorrect assumption. This correction will affect the display of DIDSON data and calculations involving DIDSON data. Especially calculations related to detected multibeam targets.

Beam spread read from file
Beam spread is now read automatically from the data file. Sound Metrics has advised that the sector angle for the DIDSON Big lens is 14.4 degrees. In Echoview 4.40 the Big lens sector angle was 15 degrees; this was incorrect. The correction to the sector angle will affect the display of DIDSON data and calculations involving DIDSON data from Echoview 4.40 files. Especially calculations related to detected multibeam targets.
New Display settings
DIDSON users will benefit from the new settings Flip horizontal and Show Direction labels (for beam numbering) on the Display page of the Variable Properties dialog box for multibeam echograms. These settings will display your data in the same beam number orientation as the DIDSON application.
Target properties for detected multibeam targets
DIDSON data analysis will particularly benefit from the wide range of target properties and other multibeam related enhancements discussed on the New in Echoview 4.50 for sonar users page.
Support for range and window changes in DIDSON data files.
Echoview now correctly supports range and window changes in DIDSON data files.
