Exporting to QPS SD files

Single beam Sv, TS and Power data may be exported to QPS SD files. QPS SD files can be loaded into the QPS iView4D and Fledermaus applications.

Refer to the QPS website for further information about QPS SD files and iView4D.

To export data to a QPS SD file:

  1. Display a single beam echogram.
  2. On the Echogram menu select Export, To QPS SD Format...
  3. On the Export to QPS SD Format dialog box specify settings.
  4. Click OK.
  5. - OR -
  6. On the Dataflow window select a single beam variable.
  7. On the Shortcut menu (right click) select Export, To QPS SD Format...
  8. On the Export to QPS SD Format dialog box specify settings.
  9. Click OK.

Notes:

  • QPS recommend a QPS SD file size that is less than the GPU memory size of the graphics card in your computer system. When an exported QPS SD file performs poorly in QPS applications, the advice is to decrease the number of pings and/or samples exported until display performance is acceptable.
  • Data in variables with fewer than two pings or fewer than two GPS fixes can't be exported.
  • A ping with the same GPS fix as the previous ping is omitted from the export.
  • An Export to QPS SD Format requires a position variable to be specified under Position source on the Position page of the Platform Properties dialog box.
  • Analysis page exclusions are applied to exported data.
  • iView4D supports files with a lowercase *.sd file extension. Files with an uppercase *.SD extension may not be opened.
