Surface Properties dialog box

The Surface Properties dialog box is used to change the properties of virtual surfaces.

To display the Surface Properties dialog box:

  1. On the Dataflow window, select a virtual surface object.
  2. On the Shortcut menu select Surface Properties.

Note: A Shortcut menu is also available of virtual surfaces displayed in the Objects List.

The following pages can appear on the Surface Properties dialog box:

Operands page

The Operands page displays the Operator, its description and input operands.

Fixed Depth page

The Fixed Depth page is where the Depth (m) is specified.

Fixed Range page

The Fixed Range page is where the Range (m) is specified.

Linear Offset page

The Linear Offset operator displays a Linear Offset page that specifies an Offset distance (m) from an existing surface (Operand 1) to create a new virtual surface. The Offset is applied in the range space or depth space of the Operand.

Note: The linear offset of a surface-ping intersection is not displayed on H-mode echograms and is not used when used as an exclusion surface during multibeam school detection or 3D region analysis.

Visibility page

The Visibility page of the Surface Properties dialog box is used to select (or clear) the visibility of the surface for an acoustic variable. The settings on the Surfaces page of the Variable Properties dialog box, for an acoustic variable, can change surface visibility as well.

Notes page

The Notes page of the Surface Properties dialog box is used to change the Name of a surface, display the surface type and add notes. See also: Supported characters for names.
