Cruisetrack Display page

The Cruisetrack Display page is of the Variable Properties dialog box is used to control the way data is displayed for the cruise track of a position variable (i.e. position GPS fixes) or a bottom points variable.

To display a cruise track, on the Filesets window, select a position variable then select Cruisetrack.

Or use View menu > Cruise Track > Fileset > Position variable.

Or use View menu > Cruise Track > Bottom points variable.

The settings in the following sections are available:

Show good fixes

Toggle good GPS fixes (green crosses) on the cruise track window.

Show bad fixes

Toggle bad GPS fixes (red crosses) on the cruise track window.

Show grid

Toggle grid lines.

Show scale bar

Toggle the scale bar.

Show zoom controls

Toggle zoom controls.

Show synchronized position

Toggle the cross-hair position when auto-synchronized.

Show transects

Visualize transects on the cruisetrack display.

Show transect labels

Display the transect name.

Bottom points variable

Display As:

Select a display from the list:

  • Alongtrack + displays bottom points as class-colored segments along the cruise track.
  • Points displays bottom points as class-colored points along the cruise track.

+ Section colors change when the next point starts. Regions created around bottom points are displayed as beginning and ending at the mid-point of a section.

Map display

WMS maps or map and waypoint files can be selected to display as a background on the cruise track window.

You can add WMS maps and map and waypoint files with the Mapping page of the EV File Properties dialog box.

WMS maps

The WMS maps section shows available WMS maps. Select the WMS map to display in the cruise track window.

Note: Echoview may incorrectly render WMS maps with unusual projections.

Map and waypoint files

The Map and waypoint files section is available for position variables and is used to manage the map and waypoint files. Select the files to display in the cruise track window.

Warning: Echoview is not a navigational tool. Any map files supplied with Echoview show indicative positions of coastlines only; they do not show navigational hazards. Echoview Software is not responsible for the content of online maps, and does not guarantee that they are rendered accurately within Echoview.
