Exporting scenes

Echoview scenes may be exported to a file of any of the following types:

VRML world files (*.wrl)

3D scene

Can be viewed outside Echoview using a VRML client. VRML world files are written as text data files and can be viewed in their raw state using a text editor.

TIFF or geoTIFF  files (*.tif, *.tiff)

Image may be opened in most image editors.  Geographic information can be viewed using utilities such as listgeo (available from http://www.remotesensing.org/geotiff/geotiff.html)

JPEG files (*.jpg, *.jpeg)

Image (*.jpg or *.jpeg) may be opened in most image editors.  Geographic information is written to a text file (*.jgw) that can be opened by most text editors.

Notes:

  1. To export a scene, each component of the scene must meet individual Echoview module license requirements. See Licenses and demonstration mode for more information.

  2. Only objects that are visible in the scene (have a valid time overlapping with the scene time window) will be exported.

To export a scene

To export a scene from Echoview:

  1. Open the scene in Echoview. See Using scenes for information on the management of Echoview scenes.

  2. On the Scene menu, click Export then Scene.

  3. In the Files of type list, click a format.

  4. Choose a folder and enter a name for the export file.

  5. Click Save.

  6. If you chose the TIFF, GeoTIFF or JPEG format, complete the Export Scene to Image File dialog box.
