EchoListener data files

EchoListener data file (.eld)

These are echosounder data files created by the EchoListener logging program.

File names for ELD files should follow the "YYMMDDnn.ELD" format, where "YY" is the year, "MM" is the month, "DD" is the day and "nn" is a serial number from "00" to "99". The year is coded as "90" to "99" for 1990 to 1999, then "A0 to A9" for 2000 to 2009, "B0" to "B9" for 2010 to 2019, etc.

Notes:

• This file format does not support either vessel logs or single target information. ELD files use a special compression format making them more compact than the other data file formats supported by Echoview.
• The EchoListener is a device that was produced by SonarData. SonarData has since changed its name to Echoview Software.
