About the Canadian DFO's Simrad2

Simrad2 is a program produced by Gary Melvin of the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans for working with data from the Simrad SM2000 FR.

Simrad2 version 1.0 displays a multibeam echogram of SM2000 FR multibeam data files. The multibeam echogram in Simrad2 appears as a mirror image of the same multibeam echogram in Echoview. This is because Echoview displays the multibeam echogram as if standing behind the boat and looking along to the front of the ship, whereas Simrad2 displays the multibeam echogram as if standing in front of the boat and looking along to the back of the ship. In Echoview, a fish school that appears to the port side of the boat will appear on the left of the multibeam echogram.
