Raw variables derived from RD Instruments Workhorse data files
Echoview can derive the following raw variables from RD Instruments Workhorse data files:
- echo intensity raw beam pings Tx
- current velocity component Ref referenced (axis)
- current velocity component Ref referenced (error on current velocity)
Where:
x = the transducer number 1 to 4
Ref = the reference point for depth/range data. 'Earth referenced' indicates that depth/range data in the raw variable has been corrected for instrument mounting position.
Note: 'Instrument referenced' indicates that depth/range data in the raw variable has not been corrected for instrument mounting position.
axis = the coordinate axis of the velocity component (for example west-east, south-north, down-up)
Echo intensity raw beam variables
Prior to Echoview 15, Echo intensity raw beam variables were assigned a data type of Sv - this was inaccurate. Pre-Echoview 15 EV files with RDI data now derive these variables with a data type of Power dB. On the Dataflow window, the pre-Echoview 15 Sv variables are retained as unavailable variables that maintain their dataflow relationship with other variables and virtual variable chains. Use this information to recreate the variable links and chains using the Power variables.
To view the unavailable Sv variables:
- On the Dataflow window, right-click and on the Shortcut menu select Show...
- Select the unavailable variables. Click OK.
