This page summarizes the new features, improvements and other changes that have been implemented in Echoview 4.40 which specifically affect the use of data from Simrad echosounders.

New multibeam variable derived from Simrad ME70 .raw files

Echoview is pleased to announce a new multibeam variable for Simrad ME70 users. The multibeam variable, called Sv pings formed beams, is derived by combining each individual channel's data into a planar fan, or swath, view so that each beam on the fan represents the Sv data for one ME70 channel.

A multibeam echogram can be viewed and analyzed with all multibeam functionality available including creating 3D scenes and detecting 3D objects.

See Simrad ME70 .raw files and Calibration settings for ME70 raw files for more details of this exciting new development.

Simrad ME70 .raw files supported by Echocheck

Simrad ME70 .raw files are now supported by Echocheck.

Simrad SH80 corrections to range and display

Echoview calculations for stop range and beams have been corrected. Previously, displayed data was in the wrong orientation (as in mirror image) and the stop range calculation was incorrect.
