About linking graphs

Overview

A linked graph is a graph that has been linked to the current selection and/or currently selected region. Linked graphs are updated when you make a new selection or select a different region, i.e. the data that is graphed is taken from the new selection or region. Linked graphs are saved to the workspace, but no selection/region is shown when Echoview is reopened.

Linked graphs are updated as follows:

If a graph is linked to a ...

Then the graph is updated when ...

selection

the selection changes.

region

a new region is selected.

Linking graphs

To enable linking for a graph:

  1. Display a graph.
  2. On the Graph menu, point to Linking, and then click one of the following:
    1. Off
    2. Selection
    3. Region
    4. Selection and Region

To enable linking for all new graph windows:

  1. On the File menu, click Configuration.
  2. Click the Interface page tab.
  3. In the Linking mode for new graphs box under Graph windows, click one of the following:
    1. Off
    2. Selection
    3. Region
    4. Selection and Region
