Horizontal_roughness_coefficient
Horizontal_roughness_coefficient is an analysis export variable available in exported integration analyses when the School Detection module is licensed.
It provides a measure of the ping to ping variation of Sv in a school represented by a region on an echogram (dB re 1m2/m3), as defined by Nero and Magnuson (1989)
The horizontal roughness coefficient is a statistic used to measure the dispersion of acoustic energy within the school in the horizontal direction. It provides an index of the distribution of more and less dense patches within the school and/or of larger and smaller individuals (fish) within the school.
This variable is exported only if it is selected on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box.
