ADCP Origin 600 and Origin 65 *.bgram data file format
Echoview reads echosounder mode data recorded in *.bgram files by Origin 600 and Origin 65 ADCP systems. The raw variables derived from *.bgram files may include variables for unspecified dB, heading, pitch, and roll data. The Origin 600 system has four outer beams inclined at 25 degrees to the vertical, and a fifth vertical beam. The Origin 65 system has four beams inclined at 20 degrees to the vertical. Unspecified dB acoustic ping data is proportional to the received signal on the beam axis. A default sound speed of 1500 m/s is used to calculate sample range. Frequency (kHz), PulseDuration (ms) and Temperature (°C) are read from the data file.
Refer to Sonardyne equations for more information. For further information about the Origin 600 and Origin 65 ADCP systems contact Sonardyne.
Fileset note
The Origin 600 and Origin 65 systems differ in frequency, differ by the number of beams, and differ in beam configuration. It is advised that *.bgram files recorded by each instrument system be added to separate filesets, in order to avoid deriving a mix of data from different systems into the same variable.
