Detect Schools dialog box

The Detect Schools dialog box is used to detect 2D schools on the current Sv echogram.

To display the Detect Schools dialog box:

On the Echogram menu, click Detect Schools (to detect schools in the entire echogram).

Settings	Description
Assign class	Specify the region class to be assigned to detected schools.
Edit	Click to open the Classes page of the EV File Properties dialog box where you can create a new region class or edit an existing class.
Delete existing regions with this class first	If checked, all 2D regions in the selection/echogram that have the assigned region class will be deleted prior to detecting schools.
Run classification after detection	If checked, regions will be classified according to rules specified on the Region Classification page of the EV File Properties dialog box.
Properties	Click to display the Schools page (Single beam schools) of the EV File Properties dialog box. Settings relevant to school detection are changed on this page.
Detect	Click to start the school detection process. The detection of schools in large EV files may take some time.

Note: Exclusion settings on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box will affect school detection. A threshold should be set on the Data page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
