Graph Properties dialog box

This dialog box is used to configure graph settings, including labels, axis limits and the time series displayed on applicable graphs.

To display the Graph Properties dialog box:

On the graph, right-click and select Graph Properties.

A simple Graph Properties dialog box is used for many graphs. Some graphs include additional settings. The full title of the dialog box varies with the graph and data type.

Time series

Single time series graph or scatter plot

Title	N/A	Enter the graph title. The default title is the source variable name.
X axis	Select a time series from the X axis list.	Enter the name for the X axis. The default name includes unit information.
Y axis	Select a time series from the Y axis list.	Enter the name for the Y axis. The default name includes unit information.

Multiple time series graph

The Time Series section lists the time series in the source time series collection, grouped by data type. Units are displayed beside individual time series where applicable.

Use the search box to filter the list by time series name. Click the X button to clear the search.
Click the + or - button to expand or collapse all data type groups.
Select or clear a data type checkbox to show or hide all time series of that data type.
Select or clear an individual time series checkbox to show or hide that time series.
Click Show all or Hide all to show or hide all time series in the collection.

Custom labels

Label	Description
Title	Enter the graph title. The default title is the source variable name.
X axis	Enter the name for the X axis. The default name includes unit information.
Y axis	Enter the name for the Y axis. The default name includes unit information.

Fixed limits

Click the Clear Limits button to use default axis limits.

X axis

Enter the X axis Minimum value and Maximum value. Displayed units are based on the source data type.

Y axis

Enter the Y axis Minimum value and Maximum value. Displayed units are based on the source data type or types.

For depth-based time series, the default axis direction (flipped or not) is determined automatically by the time series type.

Axis labels display up to five decimal places for improved readability when zoomed into small-magnitude ranges. The Minimum and Maximum fields accept values with up to eight decimal places. When displaying ABC values, the axis may automatically use scientific notation.
When multiple time series are displayed, the default Y-axis label reflects properties shared by the selected time series. If the selected time series have the same time series type and it is not an unspecified type, the label displays the time series type and unit. If the time series have different types but the same unit, the label displays the shared unit name. Otherwise, the default label is Value.

Frequency distribution bins

The Frequency distribution section is used to control the display of Frequency distribution graphs.

Description

Number of bins

Enter the number of bins for the frequency distribution calculation.

Notes:

Frequency distribution graph calculations are based on the axis limits and number of bins. Be aware that the data population may also be affected by settings on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties for the variable. Similarly, for single target data with Analysis page and Filter page settings.
When X axis limits are blank, the axis limits are derived from the data and number of bins and then rounded for ease of handling/display.
The export of frequency distribution for regions on single target variables requires the specification of limits and bins under Frequency Distribution on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
