About VL_mid

VL_mid is an analysis export variable.

It reports the distance from the start of the vessel log of the acoustic variable to the middle ping in the analysis domain.

Select Start interval numbering from the first ping in the echogram on the Grid page of the Variable Properties dialog box to calculate the distance from the first ping of the acoustic variable instead.

This variable is exported only if it is selected on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box.

Notes:

The exported distance unit is specified on the Grid page of the Variable Properties dialog box for the variable. Horizontal grid values of None, Ping or Time use the distance unit nmi. Other grid values use distance units as specified.
