New for Simrad users

This page summarizes the new features, improvements and other changes that have been implemented in Echoview 14 which specifically affect the use of data from Simrad echosounders.

Simrad Ex500 *.ek5

Echoview now supports reading Ex500 *.ek5 files with Q packets that contain more than 700 samples. Previously, such files may have been handled as corrupt files.

Simrad EK80 calibration

For EK80 data files, you can now specify the absorption coefficient and two-way beam angle per frequency with EquivalentTwoWayBeamAngleTableWideband and AbsorptionCoefficientTableWideband.

Single target detection - wideband

A design change for the Single target detection - wideband operator offers a detection with or without an angular position operand. When no angular position operand is specified, the split-beam detection method assumes all single targets lie on the beam axis.
