Using a dongle

An Echoview dongle enables the access to licensed functionality.

If you have purchased Echoview you may be supplied with a USB dongle and a USB installation drive.

USB dongle

A device (dongle) driver must be installed for the dongle to be recognized. This automatically occurs when installing Echoview.

Without a license, Echoview will operate in demonstration mode. An Evaluation license is available to explore Echoview licensed features. For further information please contact: info@echoview.com.

How to get an Echoview dongle recognized

If you are having difficulties with your dongle, the following is a brute-force method that usually corrects dongle recognition errors.

  1. Unplug the dongle.
  2. Uninstall Echoview with Windows Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall programs.
  3. Close all programs and restart your computer.
  4. Reinstall Echoview from the Echoview USB drive or Echoview website.
  5. Start Echoview, click on the Help menu and click Check for Updates, then install any updates that are available for the version of Echoview you are using.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Plug in the dongle.
  8. Start Echoview.
