Adding a WMS map or Map and waypoint files to cruise track windows
Map and waypoint files
You can display maps (from Map files) and series of joined coordinates (from Waypoint files) on cruise track windows.
To make map or waypoint files available to a cruise track window:
- On the EV File Properties dialog box, select the Mapping page.
- In the Map and Waypoint files section, click Add.
- Browse to a map or waypoint file and click Open.
- Click OK.
Notes:
- You can only add a maximum of 10 map and waypoint files to each EV file.
- Echoview only supports map files in longitude/latitude format.
To view which Map or Waypoint files are displayed in a cruise track window:
- Select the position variable from which the cruise track was created.
- On the Variable Properties dialog box, select the Cruisetrack Display page.
- The files are displayed in the Map and Waypoint files section.
Warning: Echoview is not a navigational tool. Any map files supplied with Echoview show indicative positions of coastlines only; they do not show navigational hazards. Echoview Software is not responsible for the content of online maps, and does not guarantee that they are rendered accurately within Echoview.
WMS maps
You can display a WMS map on cruise track windows and on alongtrack displays.
To make a WMS map available to a cruise track window and alongtrack display:
- On the EV File Properties dialog box, select the Mapping page.
- In the WMS maps section, click Add.
- On the WMS Map Properties dialog box enter a Map Name and the URL address of a WMS map.
- Select or clear WMS map layers to suit your data.
- Click OK.
Notes:
- Precaching is useful when Echoview is used and there is no Internet access.
To view a WMS map on a cruise track window:
- Select the position variable from which the cruise track was created.
- On the Variable Properties dialog box, select the Cruisetrack Display page.
- The WMS maps are displayed in the WMS maps section. Select a WMS map.
- Click OK.
