Analyze Selection dialog box
The Analyze Selection dialog box displays the analysis results for a selection on a single target echogram.
To display the Analyze Selection dialog box:
-
Make a selection on a single target echogram.
-
On the Shortcut menu (right-click), click Analyze Selection.
The following information and settings are available:
Analysis variable |
Description |
General | |
TS mean |
The mean in the linear domain of the compensated TS values of the targets in the selection. |
TS minimum |
The minimum compensated TS of the targets in the selection. |
TS maximum |
The maximum compensated TS of the targets in the selection. |
TS Standard Deviation |
The standard deviation of the backscattering cross section taken in the linear domain. |
Domain | |
Beam volume sum |
The sum of the beam volumes of all pings in the selection, see Beam_volume_sum for more information. |
Target range/depth mean |
The average range/depth of all targets in the selection, see About depth, range and altitude. |
Target length mean |
The average target length of all targets in the selection. See About target length mean. Note: Only variables that include target length estimations will display a result. See About target properties. |
Exclude below line range/depth mean |
The mean range/depth of the exclude-below line over the range of pings covered by the selection, see About depth, range and altitude. Note: Only pings with a line status of 'good' are used in this calculation. |
Counts | |
Single targets |
The number of single targets in the selection. |
Pings |
The number of pings in the selection. |
Warning: Depth mean is calculated using Target_on_axis_depth not Target_true_depth, and targets are excluded based on their target_on_axis_depth value not their target_true_depth value.
Linked
Select Linked to link the displayed results to the currently activated region or selection. The displayed results will update as you select subsequent regions or selections of the echogram.
Notes: With Linked selected, the dialog box will respond to the activated region on the Region browser and the Regions window.
