Region Browser dialog box

The Region Browser dialog box is used to browse defined regions from a small dialog box designed to occupy minimal screen space. It displays the basic properties of each region. The activated region is highlighted on open echograms and in the Regions window. It is possible to visually browse through regions on echograms using the Region Browser. It is also possible to link analysis results and browse through region analyses via the Region Browser. The Region Browser can be placed or docked anywhere in the Echoview window.

To display the Region Browser dialog box:

  • On the toolbar, click Region Browser region browser tool

  • Press F4

The Region Browser dialog box also appears immediately after a new region is created.

Settings

Description

Name

Type a name for the region or accept the default.

Type

Choose a region type from the list.

Class

Assign a region class to the region.

The list of classes can be edited or added to by clicking Classes. The Classes Page of the EV File Properties dialog box will open.

Note: A Class change (here) affects the Class for the Region classification tool.

Notes

Enter any notes you wish to record about the region.

Detection Settings

Echoview detection settings associated with the region are recorded on this tab.

Information includes the source Variable name and detection settings:

Click Previous to activate the previous region in the echogram and access its properties.

Click Next to  activate the next region in the echogram and access its properties.

Click Classes to open the Classes Page of the EV File Properties dialog box where you can add or edit region classes.

You can continue to use Echoview in the normal way while the Region Browser dialog box is displayed. When you select another region, it becomes the activated region and its properties will be reflected in the dialog box.

Synchronize echograms to activated region

The Region Browser can be used to visually scroll through regions on an echogram.

To automatically bring the activated region into view, select the Synchronize echograms to activated region option on the Interface page of the Echoview Configuration dialog box.

Linked region analysis results

The Region Browser can be used to scroll through region analyses on the active echogram. If you select Linked when viewing either the Integration Results dialog box or Analysis Results dialog box, the results will update as you activate new regions in the Region Browser or on the echogram.

Note: It is possible to view the properties of all regions defined in an EV file by opening the Regions window.
