Create 3D Surface from Line dialog box
The Create 3D Surface from Line dialog box is used to enter the settings that will be used to create a surface from line object.
To invoke the Create 3D Surface from Line dialog box:

On the Echogram menu, point to Create 3D object, then click Surface From Line (to use the whole line)

-
Make a selection using the Vertical band tool (to use part of a line).

On the Shortcut menu (right-click), point to Create 3D object, then click Surface From Line.
Settings |
Description |
Surface name |
Accept the default name or enter a name of your choice. |
Line |
Click the line from which the surface will be created. |
Maximum triangulation distance |
Enter the maximum allowable distance between points in the surface. Where this distance is exceeded a gap will be displayed in the surface. |
Intensity color source |
Select the color source that will be used if you choose Intensity as the Color display method on the 3D Object Properties dialog box.

Note: The latitudes and longitudes of the line from which the surface is created are the latitude and longitude of the GPS antenna at the time the pings were transmitted and have not been corrected for transducer geometry.
