3D Raster Image Properties dialog box
The Import 3D Raster Image dialog box and 3D Raster Image Properties dialog boxes differ only in the functions they perform.
- The Import 3D Raster Image dialog box is used to enter data that will be used to position a raster image in a scene.
- The 3D Raster Image Properties dialog box is used to alter the same settings after a raster image has been imported.
To display the Import 3D Raster Image dialog box:
- On the File menu, click Import.
- In the Files of type list, click the required image type.
- Select the raster image file to import.
- Click Open.
- If the ESRI World File Interpretation dialog box is displayed:
- click Ignore file (to ignore the georeferencing data that has been read by Echoview), or
- click OK (to accept the georeferencing data that has been read by Echoview)
- If the GeoTIFF File Interpretation dialog box is displayed:
- click Skip (to ignore the georeferencing data in the file being imported, and enter the appropriate coordinates manually), or
- click OK (to accept the georeferencing data that was read from the GeoTIFF file)
To display the 3D Raster Image Properties dialog box:
- Display the (3D Object) Properties dialog box for a raster image object.
- Click the General tab.
- Click Raster Image Properties
These dialog boxes contain the following settings:

Displays the name and path of the raster image file you are importing. |
Image name |
Enter a name for the image. This name will be displayed on the Objects page of the Scene Properties dialog box. |

For each section, enter:

Transparent color |
If the raster image includes areas that should be transparent in the scene, select this checkbox and select the color that was used in the raster image to represent transparent areas. Note: This setting cannot be changed if the original file is deleted or moved. |
Note: To view the imported raster image as a standalone 3D object you must add it to a scene. If you are using the raster image to color a surface you do not need to add it to scene, but will need to change the color properties of the surface.
