Using the integram

Ping status integram

Displays the assigned user defined status of time intervals in an echogram. Time intervals (pings) are specified using the Vertical band selection tool.

Preparations for integram analysis

  1. Refer to About Ping status.
  2. Click an Sv variable and on the Shortcut menu select Variable Properties, Echogram Display page, Integram analysis: Ping status

Mean Sv integram or Maximum Sv integram

Sv integram analysis boundaries are affected by the Exclude Above and the Exclude Below lines on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.

A useful technique is to constrain a Sv integram analysis to the data between two lines. For example when using the Find Next Integram Value feature to fix intrusions of the bottom over a bottom pick line.

Preparations for integram analysis

  1. Create lines to represent the boundaries of bathymetric features. For example an editable bottom pick, and a virtual line offset above by a few meters to focus the integram analysis on the bottom.
  2. Specify the lines as the Exclude Above and Exclude Below lines on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
  3. Select a Sv integram analysis under Integram on the Echogram Display page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
    1. Specify an Sv integram feature threshold value (dB).
    2. Specify an Sv integram feature threshold condition (greater than or less than).

Find Next Integram Value/Find Previous Integram Value

The Find Next/Previous Integram Value feature indicates a group of pings, outlined with a temporary border, that satisfy the specified Sv threshold condition.

  1. On the echogram position the mouse pointer.
  2. Right-click, select Find Next Integram Value or Find Previous Integram Value.

Notes:

  • About the integram and Integram keyboard shortcuts.
  • The Find Previous Integram Value begins from the current marked pings or, if none are visible, from the left-most ping in view, relative to the ping position of the mouse pointer.
  • The Find Next Integram Value begins from the current marked pings or, if none are visible, from the right-most ping in viewm relative to the ping position of the mouse pointer.
  • A suitable Color legend can make anomalies easier to see.

Bottom classification integram

A bottom classification integram displays bottom class colors from a specified bottom points variable. Auto-synchronize a bottom classification integram with a Media window, bottom points cruise track and bottom points table to analyze bottom points data and edit (bottom) class.

Preparations for integram analysis

Bottom points variables on the Dataflow window are created from a displayed single beam Sv variable and applying Echogram menu > Classify Bottom. See Configuring a bottom classification for more information.

  1. Click an Sv variable and on the Shortcut menu select Variable Properties, Echogram Display page, Integram analysis: Bottom classification.
  2. Use Echogram Display page, Bottom variable: and make a selection from the Bottom variable list
