Support for data from the FQ80 echosounder

Support for data files from the FQ80 echosounder has been introduced.

Echoview does not directly support .hacorg files logged by FQ80 echosounders. It supports .hac files that are created from these files by Furuno's FQ80 Analyzer software (see Furuno FQ80 Analyzer documentation for more information).

The following file types are supported.

File type

Description

PingAn01.hac

Mechanical angle pings

SCSVn06.hac

Sv small-cell pings

SSVn03.hac

Sv pings

TSn04.hac

Single target detections pings

pos.hac

GPS fixes

         Where n = channel number

Note: Support for Furuno FQ80 files is in beta testing in Echoview 3.10. However, you should be able to perform all Sv, angular position and single target processing for which you have the necessary licenses. Please report any problems and suggestions regarding support for these files to Echoview support.

Furuno FQ80 color scheme

The Furuno FQ80 color scheme has been developed for viewing data recorded from Furuno FQ80 echosounders. Echograms displayed using this color scheme should have a similar appearance to echograms displayed in Furuno's FQ80 Analyzer software.
