Licenses and demonstration mode

The use of Echoview is covered by the Echoview End User License Agreement. Echoview features are licensed by module. Limited Echoview features are available in demonstration mode for unlicensed modules. An Evaluation license and dongle are available to explore Echoview licensed features. For further information about modules or licenses please contact: sales@echoview.com.

To determine which modules you are licensed to use:

  1. On the Help menu, click About Echoview
  2. Click License Information

Echoview features under licensed modules

The following is a list of Echoview modules and the features offered under a licensed module.

Note: Licensed module features are supplemented by the limited features from unlicensed modules available under demonstration mode.

Advanced Operators

Use of operators licensed with the Advanced Operators module to create virtual echograms.

Exceptions:

  • Use of operators licensed with the Echoview Essentials module.
  • Use of operators licensed with the Habitat Classification module.
  • Use of operators licensed with the Fish Tracking module.
  • Use of operators licensed with the Multibeam Fish Tracking module.
  • The Cell statistic operators are licensed under the Advanced Operators module, however if the Echoview Essentials module is unlicensed, the operators are restricted to 500 pings.

Create lines on virtual variables derived from operators licensed with the Advanced Operators module.

Create or detect surfaces on virtual variables derived from operators licensed with the Advanced Operators module.

Define regions on a virtual variable.

Edit fish tracks on a virtual variable (requires a licensed Fish Tracking or Multibeam Fish Tracking module).

Use of the Threshold Response graph, Frequency Response graph and Relative mean dB graph with virtual variables.

Copy a selection on a virtual variable.

Detect schools on a virtual variable (requires a licensed School Detection module.)

Detect schools on a virtual variable during live viewing (requires a licensed School Detection module and Live Viewing module.)

Fish Tracking

Detection, editing and analysis of fish tracks from single beam data.

Create 3D fish track object.

Use of operators licensed by the Fish Tracking module (see Operator licensing in Echoview).

Export fish track analyses.

Export data from operators licensed with Fish Tracking. Note: In a virtual variable chain, the final variable in the chain is subject to the licensing conditions of any previous operators in the chain.

Can't detect, edit or analyze fish tracks.

Can't export fish track analyses.

Can't export 3D fish tracks from scenes.

School Detection

Detection and analysis of 2D schools.

Can't detect 2D schools.

Multibeam Fish Tracking

Detection, editing and analysis of fish tracks from multibeam and single beam data.

Add manual target length measurements.

Use of operators licensed with the Multibeam Fish Tracking module (see Operator licensing in Echoview).

Create 3D fish track objects.

Export of 3D fish tracks from scenes.

Export of region inspection data.

Export of 3D regions from scenes to geo-referenced image files.

Can't use detect 3D schools.

Can't use 3D surface detection.

Can't use 3D multibeam curtain creation.

Can't use 3D region track detection.

Can't view and cannot export multibeam analysis variables.

Can't export data or underlying data from multibeam echograms.

Can't export 3D regions from scenes to geo-referenced image files.

Can't export region inspection data.

Can only view limited 3D region analysis variables on the General page of the (3D Object) Properties dialog box.

Demonstration mode

The use of any feature in Echoview is subject to module licensing. Where a module is unlicensed, some limited features may be available under demonstration mode.

The lack of an enforced limitation in demonstration mode does not imply the right to use a feature. Please consult specific feature limitations if in doubt.

All modules unlicensed

The title bar of the Echoview window under demonstration mode displays Echoview - (Demonstration use only).

Without a license dongle you can do the following:
