New in Echoview 3.35 for all users

Welcome to Echoview 3.35! This is a targeted interim release before Echoview 3.40 appears for general release.

Echoview 3.35 introduces instrument and target-locked scanning concepts for the support of scanning sonars and a number of related and unrelated enhancements for general use.

New features and changes for:

On-screen layer and interval number display

Layer and interval number can now be displayed on screen using a shortcut key while viewing an echogram.

Printing of 3D views

It is now possible to print both the Scene window and the 3D single target detection graph easily within Echoview. See About Printing in Echoview for further information.

New operators

New operators

Description

Kalman GPS smoothing filter

This operator creates a smoothed cruise track by applying a Kalman GPS smoothing filter to a raw position variable.

Instrument scan position

This operator attempts to remove the effects of local vessel motion and GPS imprecision from position data. The instrument scanning school detection algorithm requires that the vessel (transducer) be stationary during an instrument scan. Due to GPS imprecision and movement of a vessel at anchor during a scan the actual measured position may vary over the time of an instrument scan. This operator identifies scanning frames within which the distance between pings is no greater than a specified limit.

Beam scan

This operator builds up a scanned image combining data from previous pings. It is intended for use with data from the Kongsberg Mesotech MS1000 scanning sonar only.

A new operator group called the Movement operators group has also been introduced.

Scenes now have time properties

3D scenes and objects now have a sense of time. Each object has a valid time range and each scene has a time window. Only objects valid within the scene's time window are displayed. See scene animation.
