Exporting single targets analyses

The Single target analysis exporter on the Dataflow window allows you to retain and repeat a configured export analysis.

Preparation

  1. A single targets variable is required as a variable for Operand 1 of the exporter.
  2. The Export page Analysis variables to export. Output and Format settings on the EV File Properties dialog box may affect the content of the results file. An exporter object on the Dataflow window can be configured to override the Export page global settings.
    1. Global settings: Analysis variables to export and the Output format on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box.
      • If Spreadsheet format (single file) is selected as the Output format, the exports will contain single target analysis variables for each domain (e.g., Num_targets, TS_mean);
      • If Database format (multiple files) is selected as the Output format, the exports will contain analysis variables for each single target in each domain (e.g., TS_comp, Region_ID, Target_range).
    1. When exporting a cell's analysis, choose the Analysis variables to export and the Output format, and configure the empty cell handling on either the global settings on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box or the settings of the exporter.
  3. When exporting a region's analysis, define the regions for the export and set the region type to analysis (use the Region Browser dialog box).
  4. Ensure the region classes for your export are visible on the Regions page of the variable intended for Operand 1.
  5. Configure the settings on the Analysis page of the intended variable used for Operand 1.
  6. When exporting a cell's analysis, configure the cells by specifying the Show time/distance grid and Show depth/range/line-referenced on the Grid page of the variable intended for Operand 1.
  7. Define transects in the assigned transect group for the variable intended for Operand 1.
  8. See also About single targets analysis.

Single targets analysis: regions export, cells export, regions by cells export, transects export

The export is constrained to regions or cells overlapping with any transects in an assigned transect group. Refer to Transects and export analyses for more details. Overlapping regions are treated independently.

To create and configure the Single targets analysis exporter object

  1. Open (or click to bring into focus) the single targets echogram.
  2. On the Echogram menu, select Export, New Analysis Exporter ...
  3. On the New Exporter dialog box, select Single targets analysis and click OK.
  4. Configure the settings on the Single Targets Analysis page. The Name and notes page settings allow the customization of the export object name and a place to add text information.
  5. The key settings for a regions export are:
    • Analysis domain: Regions.
    • Specified Region classes.
    • Analysis variables to export: Override the analysis variables specified within the EV File Properties dialog lets you choose exporter-specific analysis variables. When this checkbox is cleared, the exporter uses the global settings defined on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog. The controls are disabled but still display the global settings so you can preview what will be used during export.
  • The key settings for a cells export are:
    • Analysis domain: Cells
    • Analysis variables to export: Override the analysis variables specified within the EV File Properties dialog lets you choose exporter-specific analysis variables. When this checkbox is cleared, the exporter uses the global settings defined on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog. The controls are disabled but still display the global settings so you can preview what will be used during export.
    • Cells are configured on the Grid page of the Variable Properties dialog box of the single targets variable used as Operand 1.
  • The key settings for a transects export are:
    • Analysis domain: Transects
    • Analysis variables to export: Override the analysis variables specified within the EV File Properties dialog lets you choose exporter-specific analysis variables. When this checkbox is cleared, the exporter uses the global settings defined on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog. The controls are disabled but still display the global settings so you can preview what will be used during export.
  • The key setting for a regions by cells export are:
    • Analysis domain: Regions by cells.
    • Cells are configured on the Grid page of the Variable Properties dialog box of the single targets variable used as Operand 1.
  • Output section: For all the analysis domains (above), the Output section works in the same way as the Analysis variables to export section. Select Override the output settings specified within the EV File Properties dialog to configure exporter-specific output settings for Empty cells handling, Biomass units and file format. When the Override setting is cleared, the section shows the global output settings from the EV File Properties as a read-only preview.
  1. Click OK.
  2. - OR -
  3. On the Dataflow Toolbox, under the Exporters section, select Single targets analysis to drag and drop it onto the Dataflow window.
  4. Right-click the Single targets analysis object, select Exporter Properties.
  5. Specify Operand 1.
  6. Configure the settings on the Single Targets Analysis page. See 'The key settings' for this type of export, in this section.
  7. Click OK.

To output an export file

  1. Double-click the Single targets analysis exporter object.
  2. Specify the file name and file path.
  3. Click Save.

Single target export file format (*.csv)

The single target analysis export output is a subset of Single target export file format (*.target.csv) and also includes the following export variables:

  • Region_bottom_altitude_max
  • Region_bottom_altitude_mean
  • Region_bottom_altitude_min
  • Region_top_altitude_max
  • Region_top_altitude_mean
  • Region_top_altitude_min
