Exporting single targets analyses
Single target analyses exports are used to export an analysis of single targets in the following analysis domains:
- Single target analysis by regions
- Single target analysis by cells
- Single target analysis by regions by cells
The exported data include the number of targets in the domain, the average depth/range of targets in the domain, the mean of the compensated TS values of the single targets in the domain, empty pings (optional) etc. See single target analysis variables for a full list of the variables that are exported.
Generally, you perform the export on a single targets echogram (rather than a Sv echogram, TS echogram etc). The echogram should have at least one defined region that is visible.
Notes:
- The pre-Echoview 5 Logged Draft setting may have affected results.
- You must have a licensed Essentials module to export single target analyses.
Setting up the export
Choose the analysis variables to export, and the export format:
- Open the EV File Properties dialog box (Press F6).
- Click on the Export tab.
- Under the Analysis variables to export section, select the single target analysis variables to export.
- In the Output format section choose the required export format. If you select the database format, the single target properties for each target will also be exported.
- Enable the export of empty cells, in the General section. (For Single target analysis by cells and Single target analysis by regions by cells.)
- Click OK to save your changes and close the EV File Properties dialog box.
Single targets analysis by regions
The single targets analysis by regions export command is used to export single target analyses for regions in an echogram. Each row in the exported .csv file contains the single target analysis variables for a single region.
- Complete the set up.
- Bring the single target echogram into focus.
- On the menu, navigate to Echogram, Export, Analysis by Regions and click Single Targets... to open the Export Single Target Data by Regions - Select Classes dialog box.
- Choose the region class(es) of interest, then click Export... to open the Save file dialog box.
- Navigate to a destination folder and enter a File name for the file(s).
- Click Save.
Notes:
- The regions for which an analysis will be exported is affected by exclusion lines selected on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
- Regions that do not contain any targets will not be analyzed.
- All settings in the Variable Properties dialog box except those on the Echogram Display page are applied to calculations.
- This command will only be available if at least one analysis region has been defined on the selected echogram.
Single targets analysis by cells
The single targets analysis by cells export command is used to export single targets analyses for cells on an echogram.
- Complete the set up.
- Bring the single target echogram into focus.
- Define a grid (if not already done).
- On the menu, navigate to Echogram, Export, Analysis by Cells and click Single Targets....
- Navigate to a destination folder and enter a File name for the file(s).
- Click Save.
Notes:
- The cells for which an analysis will be exported is affected by:
- the exclusion lines selected on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
- the output empty cells option on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box.
- All settings in the Variable Properties dialog box except those on the Echogram Display page are applied to calculations.
Single target analysis by regions by cells
The single targets analysis by cells export command is used to export single targets analyses for region-cell intersections on an echogram.
To export a single target analysis by regions by cells:
- Complete the set up.
- Bring the single target echogram into focus.
- Define a grid (if not already done).
- On the menu, navigate to Echogram, Export, Analysis by Regions by Cells and click Single Targets... to open the Export Single Target Data by Regions - Select Classes dialog box.
- Choose the region class(es) of interest, then click Export... to open the save file dialog box.
- Navigate to a destination folder and enter a File name for the file(s).
- Click Save.
Notes:
- The cells for which an analysis will be exported is affected by:
- the exclusion lines selected on the Analysis page of the Variable Properties dialog box.
- the output empty cells option on the Export page of the EV File Properties dialog box.
- region type; only analysis regions will be analyzed.
- All settings in the Variable Properties dialog box except those on the Echogram Display page are applied to calculations.
- The Echogram mode setting on the Echogram page of the EV file properties dialog box may affect the export of some depth or range single target analysis variables.
Single target export file format (*.csv)
The single target analysis export output is a subset of Single target export file format (*.target.csv) and also includes:
- Region_bottom_altitude_max
- Region_bottom_altitude_mean
- Region_bottom_altitude_min
- Region_top_altitude_max
- Region_top_altitude_mean
- Region_top_altitude_min
